How long will the consultation take?
The consultation will last approximately 45 minutes.
What does the Consultation involve?
The consultation will take place with one of our Bariatric nurses. On arrival, you will be weighed and then the consultation will begin. The Bariatric nurse will go through all aspects of weight loss surgery, including:
- Pre-operative preparation
- Surgical risks
- Eligibility
- Health benefits
- Possible complications
Feel free to bring a family member or friend for extra support.
Will I be consulted by the surgeon?
The initial consultation will take place with one of our experienced Bariatric nurses, this is also an opportunity to meet the aftercare team you will work with after surgery.
Depending on your BMI, general health and other aspects, a medical summary will be completed on your suitability for weight loss surgery and then an appointment made for you to meet your surgeon. You will also be given surgery dates at this consultation.
