Mr Sheikh’s areas of expertise include:
Hip and knee replacements
Revision hip and knee replacements
Arthroscopic (Key hole) knee surgery
Peripheral nerve decompression, such as Morton’s neuroma, cubital tunnel and common peroneal nerve
Common hand procedures like carpal tunnel decompression, trigger finger and dupuytren’s release
Lipoma removal (excluding abdomen and anterior chest)
Joint and soft tissue injections (excluding the spine)
Mr Sheikh is a practising Consultant at the University Hospitals of Northampton, based at Kettering General Hospital. He has a special interest in hip and knee replacement surgery and their revisions. He is undertaking general orthopaedics and trauma, with a special interest in complex lower limb injuries and reconstructions around metastatic bone disease.
He completed his higher specialist training in the east midlands south deanery, successfully attaining registration on the specialist register.
He undertook 2 prestigious and highly sought after fellowships, one at Wrightington hospital’s hip surgery unit and then at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Birmingham, in advanced limb reconstruction and sarcoma.
He has an active interest in research and education, he is well published in peer reviewed scientific literature in trauma and orthopaedics as well as education.
He is the current Royal College of surgeons tutor for Kettering General Hospital
