Clinical interests

Mr Christopher Mann is an experienced specialist who has dealt with many complex foot and ankle elective and trauma cases from all over Yorkshire since his appointment as NHS Consultant at Bradford Teaching Hospitals in 2004, the year he also started private work.

He takes time to explain things thoroughly to patients in a way they understand and encourages patients to receive copies of clinic letters to their GP, and often writes directly to the patient. Mr Christopher Mann offers the very best of clinical care, matching his extensive clinical experience with empathy, good communication, and kindness.

Although Mr Mann deals regularly with trauma to the arms and legs, his elective practice, both in the NHS and private, is purely foot and ankle. He has particular expertise in ankle arthroscopy (keyhole surgery). He treats any problems below the knee, from hallux valgus bunion correction, to correcting ingrowing toenails and lesser toe deformities like hammer toes and claw toes. He treats arthritis of the foot, hindfoot and ankle and foot deformities like flatfoot and high arch, pes cavus feet. He has an interest in sports problems including ankle instability, dealing with ankle ligament and tendon injuries and offering ankle ligament reconstruction and ankle ligament repair. A number of his patients are serious runners and he has a good working relationship with podiatrists and orthotists to treat of these problems non – surgically when possible. He is also now undertaking minimally invasive foot surgery in selected cases.
