Doctorate in Medicine (with distinction) University of Edinburgh.

Medial and physiology/sports science degrees from Glasgow University and FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics).


He is the current clinical director of the trauma and orthopaedic department in the South Tees Trust having moved there in 2016 from the Newcastle University Trust. He is the current fragility fracture lead for the UK Orthopaedic Trauma Society for which he is a founder member.

Since 2014 he has been the Lower limb editor for the trauma journal 'Injury' and has a number of peer reviewed publications and orthopaedic articles over the past 15 years. He teaches nationally and is faculty for AO trauma courses. His qualifications include a Doctorate in medicine with distinction from the University of Edinburgh; a first class honours Physiology & Sports Science BSc and Medical degrees from Glasgow University where he obtained a golf bursary.
