Academic background

Mr Amit Sinha qualified from Patna University, India in 1989.  After having qualified as a surgeon in India in 1993 he came to the UK in 1996 and obtained GMC Specialist Registration in Surgery in 2006.

He has extensive laparoscopic general surgical experience with particular expertise in laparoscopic cholecystectomy and laparoscopic hernia surgery which he currently performs through a single incision at the umbilicus (“,”Scarless“,” laparoscopic surgery).

The majority of his time as registrar was spent gaining experience in colorectal surgery and subsequent to his specialist registration he worked as a Fellow in Laparoscopic Colorectial Surgery at the Department of Colorectal Surgery, Singapore General Hospital.  This provided him with hands on experience in laparoscopic management of both benign and malignant colorectal disease and anal canal conditions.  He has particular interest in the management of Haemorrhiods, Fissures and Fistulas of the anal canal.

He has JAG (Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy) accreditation, for independent specialist practice in the modalities of Gastro-duodenoscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy and Colonoscopy.
