Dr Kumar is a specialist in Pain Medicine, with a special interest in interventional-multimodal chronic pain management. He has extensive experience in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia from working both in the UK and abroad. At present he works as a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia at both St Helier Hospital and Epsom General Hospital. Prior to this he was a consultant in Pain Management at the Royal Free Hospital, London.

Dr Kumar's Pain Management Clinic is based in Caterham. His special interest is in comprehensive patient centred management of chronic pain conditions including; musculo- skeletal pain, neuropathic pain, post traumatic/ surgical pain and cranio- facial pain. Various interventional and non- interventional techniques including  lifestyle modifications and complementary therapy are used to achieve this.

Academic background

After acquiring his primary medical qualification, he completed his master’s degree in Anaesthesiology. He got his full registration with the General Medical Council in 2003. He underwent further specialist training in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at Royal Infirmary, Glasgow and St Georges School of Anaesthesia, London.
