Dr Robinson qualified at Oxford University in 1989 and worked in Oxford before returning to North West. He was trained in the North West region and took time out to undertake a PhD funded by the Medical Research Council in 1999. He was appointed as a Consultant at Hope Hospital in the Gastroenterology department.
In 2001, Dr Robinson became an honorary clinical lecturer at Manchester University and he is also the lead tutor for undergraduate gastroenterology teaching at Hope Hospital.
